In Plain Sight

When I stumbled upon this show about a month ago, I was having a a pretty bad flair up with my fibromyalgia and after watching two episodes back to back, I knew that I was hooked. I was laughing so hard because I could relate to her frustrations with her job, boss, family, and life in general. Well, in a non-Marshall kind of way. :)

Mary Shannon is the tough US Marshall, who doesn't take diddly from anyone. Yet, she takes sweet care of her dysfunctional family, well with a side of sass. Her wit is sharp. Razor sharp. But beneath that tough exterior is this amazingly vulnerable woman.

Marshall Mann is her partner. Their relationship has its quirks. Her boss really doesn't know what to do with her. But she excels at what she does, so they give her a wide berth. Then there is her family. An alcoholic mother and her irresponsible sister that drive her crazy. There have been some conversations that took place on the show between Mary and her mother that came very close to conversations that I have had with my mother in times past. Dysfunctional at its best!

If you get a chance check it out. It's on the USA network.

Tonya, I've watched In Plain Sight since the beginning last summer. I love it, I love Mary, I love Marshall. I love that Marshall loves Mary deeply but Mary loves Raph who loves her in return (that's really sweet) so much that he bailed her and her oh-so-annoying mother and sister out of SO much trouble. I love that both men try to take care of her to the extent that she allows them. I wish I had one-tenth of her backbone (not to mention her figure LOL). Jinx and Brandi are annoying, but they're there for a reason. If it hadn't been for Brandi and her moron of a boyfriend Chuck, none of last season would have happened, especially the last two episodes. Something else I love about this show -- Special Agent Robert O'Connor is played by Mary McCormack's real-life brother Will McCormack. Will played Special Agent Robert McCormack in 2004 in a short-lived comedy entitled -- are you ready for this? -- In Plain Sight. Favorite scene last year -- Stan showing Marshall how "the peacock should strut" and Mary standing there with her mouth hanging open, then trying to block the imagine for penetrating too deeply into her mind. Oh, did I say I love Marshall??? :) Favorite episode last year: Trojan Horst. Looking forward to Marshall and Bobby D's trip to Philadelphia in an upcoming episode.
