I don't have the birthday pics edited. This was from a few years ago. :) His exuberance has never left him.
This weekend we celebrated Jonathan's 18 birthday. It was bittersweet to say the least. How could this little boy, then a young inquisitive boy who tried to stump his parents with such hard questions turn into this young man stepping into adulthood. We have so much to be grateful for, thinking that we could have lost him this eight months ago, doesn't leave us so quickly. But I have to say that my heart feels so divided, I have such joy and sorrow wrapped into one. And no matter how joyful one is, if someone is missing, it just isn't the same. As my heart quietly weeps within. My Joy for each day:
Day 10 Dinner with Chuck and Jonathan celebrating as a family. Laughter, love, and looking forward to Jonathan's future.
Day 11 Jonathan's birthday. Watching friends and family come to celebrate with him.
Day 12 Remembering antics and situations we find funny now, but not when they happened. :)
Some days are filled with the obvious- but some day takes a decision to look. Today was one of those days.

Happy Birthday, Jonathon. Congratulations, Tonya & Chuck for making it through the last little bit of teenagerhood. You'll be empty-nesters before too long.
