For FACE families

The fall semester is just around the corner! I am looking forward to teaching two new classes as well as teaching Photo I, II, and Fun Photography for Kids. Here is some information that you might need for any of these classes:

Photo I if your student is in high school and is planning on lettering, your student may only miss one field trip. Here is the schedule for field trips, but please note it may change due to weather. Fun with Photography Class may attend these field trips, but must be accompanying by a parent.  Please note that your student will need to have an 8x10 matted print for critique every month.

Monthly Field Trips:
  • September 17, 2011 South Park Colorado for fall shooting
  • October 22, 2011  Downtown Denver for architecture shooting
  • November 12, 2011 304 Pinyon St, Frederick, CO (my house) For portrait shooting, and lighting techniques
  • January  21, 2012  Estes Park, Colorado for winter shooting
  • February 18, 2012 Train Museum
  • March  24, 2012  Denver Zoo
  • April 14, 2012 Denver Botanical Gardens, 
Fun Photography For Kids Schedule: Parents must bring items on list except for the weeks where it is a new calender. The highlighted dates I will bring items  9-6-11, 10-4-11, 11-1-11, 1-3-12, 1-31-12, 2-28-12,3-27-11 Here is the schedule for the year. I tried to pick things that we would have around our house. Please make sure that your student brings his/her camera every week.

Photo II Requirements and links for software
Laptop with  Photoshop Elements , turning in 4x6's weekly, bringing camera last Tuesday of the month.
In this class we will look at a weekly theme and the student will bring back 4x6 images of the homework the from the following week. Students may share a laptop, but no more than two per computer. We will be exploring how to manipulate photos, create montages, and presentations.

Lightroom Class
Requirements: Links for software
: Laptop with Adobe Lightroom 3 so that the student may work with  photos three times a month. The fourth Tuesday they will need their cameras where we will look at flash photography. Students may share laptops, but no more than two to a computer please.  We will work on flash photography once a month and learn the ins and outs of lightroom.
Journalism Class 
Requirements and links for book
Must be able to finish homework assignments on time . We will assist those that create FACE's yearbook and the end of the year.
